Unison members at Richard Cobden Primary School in London are taking four days of strike action to end the undervaluing of their role in the school. The school’s management proposed a restructure that cut permanent posts.

Homerton Hospital phlebotomists have scored a stunning victory, inspired by a rebanding campaign for Health Care Assistants and Maternity Support Workers run by the Homerton Unison branch in 2024.

National Education Union (NEU) members at Little Ilford School took their third day of strike action on 14 January. The strike was very solid, with teachers and support staff all out.

As the Socialist goes to press, Unite members at Lea Interchange bus garage in Leyton, east London, are preparing for another two days of strike action on 9 and 10 January over victimisation of reps.

Trade unionists met to coordinate anti-racist and anti-far right campaigning across London & the South East. The meeting was initiated by civil service union PCS London and South East regional committee, though it did not get official PCS support.

Circuit Go provides poor-quality and expensive laundry services to many. Profits are up at Circuit Go – over £13 million in 2024. One of Circuit Go’s parent shareholders was fined £100 million for increasing medicine prices by more than 1,000%.
