We attended the London demonstration, and the Saturday evening rally at Socialism 2023 afterwards. As soon as we left Bond Street station, the first thing we spotted was a Socialist Party gazebo, run by party members.

Newham Labour rocked by independent anti-war candidate victory in by-election
Newham Labour Party, East London, is reeling from the result of the Plaistow North council by-election, which saw the Independent anti-war candidate win with 46% of the vote while Labour’s vote collapsed by 39.1%.

Thousands swamp Westminster to protest for ceasefire vote
On 15th November, 15,000 people gathered outside Parliament to demand MPs vote for a ceasefire in Gaza. Chants included “Keir Starmer is a wasteman”, “Rishi Sunak, you will see: Palestine will be free”, “Occupation no more” and “Ceasefire now”.
Barts NHS strike: ‘We won’t stay down for people to ride over us’
Unite members at Barts NHS Trust ended two weeks of strike action over pay on 17 November with a rally at London Hospital. They will be out again 4-10 December.
London anti-war demo of historic proportions
Once again, the streets of London were filled with protesters against the war on Gaza on 11 November. Socialist placards and papers were snapped up and demonstrators thanked us for our continued support for the growing movement.

Newham Labour rocked by Gaza criticism
The Labour mayor and council in Newham, East London, have come under fierce criticism. For weeks, Labour locally did not speak out against the Israeli state’s attacks on Gaza, nor distance themselves from Starmer’s support for Netanyahu.
