Catering staff and cleaners at the Forest private school in Waltham Forest, London, members of Unite the Union, are on strike from 28 September to 2 October after their employer, the Compass Group, proposed changes that would mean a loss of pay of 13.5% per year!

NEU members at St Paul’s Way Trust School in Tower Hamlets started six days of strike action on 29 June against compulsory redundancies, and are continuing in July. The school is over-subscribed and has a waiting list of students wanting to join.
