Homeowners in some ‘affordable’ housing schemes are experiencing the reality of the capitalist housing crisis. Residents in some housing associations face service charges of over £8,000 a year, affordable only for the wealthiest in society.
Anti-cuts councillors in Redbridge are challenging the ruling Labour group’s austerity measures whose attempts to stifle debate provoked disruption of the East London borough’s 27 February budget-setting meeting by community campaigners.

NEU members at three schools in the north-east London borough of Waltham Forest are taking six days of strike action, alongside several other schools in London, demanding the removal of performance-related pay (PRP).
