I don’t trust Starmer within an inch of my life. They say things and then we find they mean nothing. I have a disabled niece, she is autistic, has a learning disability, is non-verbal and goes to a special school.

My cousin claims child Disability Living Allowance to help pay to meet her needs, she will always be disabled and need support. And yet the government are basically saying it’s fine that she will be assessed by a different PIP points system than I was when she reaches adulthood. It may be even harder for her to get PIP than it was for me. It makes me really angry and uneasy.
The welfare system and Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) already massively fail to meet disability needs and fail to support many people who need it. Yes, I won’t be ‘affected’ by the proposals now but I take this very personally as I went to hell and back to get PIP. I’m autistic and the DWP doesn’t take invisible disabilities seriously at all.
I want Starmer and Kendall to resign over this and I want the cuts abandoned. Reforms to the benefits system should be done under the democratic control of the working class, with claimants at the heart of it.
There is so much wrong with welfare as it is thanks to the Tories, and Labour is doubling down! The so called ‘concessions’ have only made me angrier. A two-tier benefits system is unacceptable.
