UCU further education strike: ‘No pay rise, cuts, and the daily grind’

Members of the National Education Union (NEU) at Little Ilford School in Newham were out on the picket line on 8 January. The strike was of teachers and support staff together, over workload.
As the Socialist goes to press, Unite members at Lea Interchange bus garage in Leyton, east London, are preparing for another two days of strike action on 9 and 10 January over victimisation of reps.
Trade unionists met to coordinate anti-racist and anti-far right campaigning across London & the South East. The meeting was initiated by civil service union PCS London and South East regional committee, though it did not get official PCS support.
