Buoyed by forcing Newham Labour council to backtrack on attacks on libraries and the reinstatement of a suspended rep, 200 workers and supporters protested outside the council’s budget meetings.

Several years after Newham’s Labour-run council shamefully approved plans that paved the way for the loss of much of the iconic Durning Hall community centre, the building has stood largely dormant.

Hillingdon Trades Council organised a preliminary meeting to discuss “Can socialists and the Green Party find common ground to take on Reform and establishment parties in the May council elections”.

Local campaigners are organising a ‘people’s budget’ conference in Enfield, north London. It’s backed by the Socialist Party, the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TUSC), the trade union council, and Your Party supporters in Enfield.

I don’t trust Starmer within an inch of my life. They say things and then we find they mean nothing. I have a disabled niece, she is autistic, has a learning disability, is non-verbal and goes to a special school.

Southwark Trades Council hosted a public meeting on 24 June to discuss trade union political representation. A range of activists and political groups were invited to attend.
